Family Background
  

     My name is Guo-Wen Zeng, coming from Tainan.  I have five members in my family.  My father is a business manager in a company about glass industry and my mother is a housewife.  Both of my parents are democratic.  As long as things or problems that I have capability to solve, they always let me make my own master.  Because of the way they teach me, I become more independent than those who are of my age.  As for my elder sister, who majors in accounting, always tells me to be responsible for the thing I promised. Her motto is “The person who doesn’t keep his word will never become an adult.”  In my family, my brother and I are the youngest children because we are twins.  On account of him, my childhood is very happy for we always do things together.  For example, we usually play basketball together and he will teach how to play basketball well.  And sometimes I will teach him about English.  He is not only my brother but also my good friend.   I’m really satisfied with what I have now.  Because of them, I become a positive and energetic person.

      I studied at Tainan National Commercial Vocational Senior High School (NTCVS) and majored in foreign languages.  Since I was a little girl, I had liked to read other countries’ cultures and histories that was the reason why I chose foreign languages as my major.  Recalling the first time when I went to school, I thought learning other countries’ languages would be easy and interesting.  However, I was totally wrong. To my surprised, there were so many things to learn such as vocabulary, grammar, pronunciation and so on.  We always had to read English magazines.  Sometimes, it really drove me crazy particularly when I couldn’t pronounce the sounds like /e/ or /ð/.  Nevertheless, my English teacher often encourages me and said “Don’t give up so easily, opportunity favors the prepared mind.” On account of these words, I became harder to study English and more positive when I faced difficulties.  During the past three years, I really learned a lot.  I learned how to use the right grammar to write English articles, how to speak English fluently without stutter and how to pronounce perfectly. 

       I went to attend the GEPT test and passed the elementary and intermediate levels.  I also passed Computer application software certification beginner level(電腦軟體應用丙級).  Besides, I attended the English story-telling competition which was held by the school.  Due to our teamwork and teacher’s help, we won the first prize!  Though, we didn’t enter the national contest, it was still a good experience. 

      During the years in NTCVS, I served as the class leader and the vice class leader.  On account of these experiences, I learned how to get along well with others and how to deal with things perfectly.  For example, when I was the class leader in the first years in NTCVS, there was an English song competition.  At first, everyone had many opinions; therefore, we made lots of versions.  However, their ideas became more and more complex and dissident.  Consequently, I tried to do my best to gather everyone’s idea and mixed it.  Fortunately, all of my classmates were satisfied with my arrangement.  Furthermore, because of our hard-working, we got the second prize and all of us felt happy for it.  Owing to this experience, I learned about teamwork and the way to solve the difficult problems.  Tough it was tired to be a leader in the class, I was glad to have to serve for my classmates and learn something from it.

      Apart from studying and learning, I also joined the clubs.  I had joined the ABC club for two years.  It was a club about learning English.  I usually practiced vocabularies with my club mates and sometimes we would see some English movies or listen to some English songs to improve our English listening and oral skills. We also shared our experiences when we studied English.  My English abilities were showing rapidly progress because all people who loved English were in this club and we would not feel embarrassed when we spoke in English.  I attended drama club at the last year in NTCVS. For the reason why I joined the drama club was that although the abilities in English were important, speaking English fluently and confidently were important, too.  Hence, I went to the drama club to train self-confident.  We would play many different roles in different dramas and spoke lines in different tones.  Most importantly, we had to show our performances on the stage.  After all of these trainings, now, I can speak English and do performances on the stage without any fright or scare.

      I really appreciate all my teachers and classmates’ helps.  Because of them, I go through many interesting experiences that I will never forget.

      Except for studying English, I still have much free time to do my hobbies.  And my favorite thing is to play basketball or volleyball on weekends.  However, the reason why I like to play basketball is my twin brother.  He is a great basketball player and when he went out and played basketball with his classmates, I always followed him.  Therefore, I started to play basketball with my brother when I was an elementary school student.  After entering NTCVS, I began to get in touch with volleyball.  Due to my seniors’ training and my efforts, now I become a pretty good volleyball player.

      When it comes to living attitude, I hope to become a “LOHAS” who eat healthy food instead of junk food, wearing simple clothes without too many decorations, loving nature and will reduce waste of natural resources and pollution and so on.  However, I still work on it, since it is not easy to get rid of the bad habits that have been done for many years.  Nevertheless, I’m looking forward to the day when I become a real “LOHAS”.  By becoming the person like that, I hope I can try my utmost to protect the earth from trash and pollution.

Future Perspective

   On account of all my teachers', friends' and families' support, I become braver to face all difficulties in the future.  Therefore, I hope to be admitted to your school so that I can have more chances to accumulate my experiences and learn something new.  And when I start my work career, I will remember the happy memories from school life and make good use of my abilities what I learned from the college.

     My name is Zoe, I was born to a middle-class family, and raised in Taipei, Taiwan since October 10th, 1980, and I spent most of my childhood and school years there. Whatever, I have an older brother in my family. My father is a blue-collar. When I was a student, I always studied hard at school. Besides texts knowledge, athleticism is my favorite subject, whenever studying Language, my heart is filled with great joy and interesting.

     On a special morning, I miraculously began wondering whether my actions and thoughts were set before I ever acted it out, People always said: "an apple a day keeps the doctor away" I agree that. Therefore, I form a habit to exercise every day. That is to say, my realization regarding "an apple a day keeps the doctor away" was typed in the script, too. And then following the directions to accomplish my wish in the future.

     Moreover, I learned how to get along with friends and myself delightedly. I like to exercise and I have many hobbies such as collecting books, watching movies and painting. I think that everyone should take his live seriously and cherish every minutes on the world. As a result, it is a pity that those who commit suicides are too weak to realize the good in life.

     Besides, I am really an optimistic person, and I am confident that I can be a responsible one at this moment. Actually, I found there are many new ways and benefits in learning Language, and then I realized the importance of Language , and began to studying diligently when I was eighteen, because its various interesting for me. Although The learning load was quite large, I still tried hard to keep a balance between studying and extracurricular activities.

     Anyway, Aside from these, I am quite sure about myself and always persisting in carrying out my plan of future. To reach my goal, I have tried my best through carefully mapping out my schedule with a hope that my life will go just as I want. This is out of the question and it may need to be adjusted to the changing circumstances though, I will hang on it. so I hope that I could keep being an optimistic and responsible person, and try to do my best, I firmly believed that life is a perpetual surprise. Every creature was made with dignity, and all living things received their lives elegantly.

     Retrospect the school days, I had studied a lot. As for my future, It must be hard and full of mean tricks, but I am really enjoyed in the process of overcoming the obstacles and completing the tasks. That means I will accomplish my wish step by step. And hoping I could be the member of IPA electronics of Taiwan, to be a programmer and to do the best of my ability, thanks.

   I am Mark Huang, a second-year senior high school student. I am seventeen-year-old. I am from a well-to-do family. I am the eldest child of three. My father and mother run a trading company; my younger sister is in junior high school and our baby brother goes to elementary school. Since I am the eldest child, it makes me an independent, responsible and mature person.

     I have great interests in computer. I have played with computer for almost seven years. My computer skill is superb. My friends always come to me for their computer problems.

     I know how to set up a website and make flash animations. Currently I have my own website sharing my habits and interests with people around the world. My website is mainly about topics of computer, basketball and movies. I also make lots of funny flash cartoons on basketball.

   
      I have met many web friends from many countries. We exchange information, ideas, school lives and academic problems. We have to communicate with one another in English, thus after these years of practicing English, it certainly helps me a lot in English and I become the top student in English course. Not to mention I am already the No.1 student in computer field.

       In order to prepare myself for the E-era and be able to apple my interest and specialty into the workplace, I decide to major in computer science to enhance my computer skill and knowledge and learn how to design programs that will bring people efficiency and convenience in the 21st century.

       With my computer and English ability, I am confident in myself to do well in computer field. Wish you could give me a chance to prove it. I am eager to be one of programmer who helps our society to do development and research on information and technology in this cutting edge.

Best of the semester - 3

      Acton is a small town in the Midwest.  It has a population of 2,500.  As the mayor in this town for ten years, I make all my efforts to protect this town from being dangerous.  Last month, Stanly Manufacturing decided to open a large factory in Acton.  When I hear of this news, I feel shocked because if the big factory is built in this quiet and clean place, it will bring several negative effects.  First of all, that factory will bring a lot of pollution.  Air in this town will fill with exhaust fumes and clear water will become waste water which people may get sick if they drink it.   A lot of noise will be made because of the factory.  People living here will have a miserable life as a result of the pollution. 

      Second, with the factory in this town, the population will increase, owing to many migrators from different areas.  In fact, on account of these migrators, the town’s public security will become more dangerous than before.  The crime rate will rise for the people whose jobs are occupied by those who come from other places or the people who can’t find a job for the population is more than working opportunities.

      Third, though the small town may turn into the big city with the prosperity that the factory brings, people who live here will become aloof because everyone wants to make money instead of chatting with their neighbors.  Due to all of these reasons, I strongly disagree that the factory is established in this peaceful town.  As the mayor in this town for ten years, I will try my best to keep the dangerousness from Acton.

Best of the semester - 2

     Everyone likes to attend a party.  However, do you know how to plan an excellent party?  As for most of people, they may say that just find a place which has already decorated and prepare some food or beverages for the guests.  In fact, there is still something that you need to note.  First of all, you have to think about your party's theme and start to find a good place that suitable for your subject. While you are looking for a party place, remember to find a big one because when you arrange some shows or games for the guests enjoying themselves, the big place will have enough space for you to make arrangements.  Second, you need some people who are good at cooking to help you make delicious meal and prepare some soft drinks. I think you can make different kinds of food such as low calorie food or health-preserving meal and so on for the guests having more choices to choose.  Third, find ten people or so to help you decorate the place.  I think you can ask your friends or siblings for help and maybe they will help without requesting for any salary!  Forth, select the party's time. I think that the most wonderful time is on Saturday night because most people don't have to go to school or work on that day and the next day.  Last and most important thing is send your greet cards to all your friends and start to look forward to the party's day coming.  Following these tips, I think hold a party will never be a difficulty for you!

Best of the semester - 1

    If I have a chance to have an interview with a celebrity, I'd like to interview Yani Tseng(曾雅妮).  Not only is she a professional golf player, but she is also the proud of Taiwan.  She has won a lot of prizes since 2007 when she became a professional player.  This year, in 2011, she won the first prize in Australia.  From then on, she is ranked number 1 in the Women's World Golf Ranking. To my surprise, she is only twenty three years old and is the youngest player who becomes number 1 in LPGA. Therefore, the first question that I want to ask her is what her feelings about becoming a famous player at such young age?  Second, I will ask her why she wants to be a professional player?  It's because most of girls at her age care about how they look or what they should wear for parties instead of having the rigorous training for 8 hours a day and thinking how to play golf well. Third, I want to ask her what kind of difficulty did she encounter during the term that she became a professional player from an amateur?  Just as the saying goes, "Practice makes perfect."  Hence, I think everyone must have suffering time when they try to make something perfect.  However, if I really have a chance to interview her, I think it will become the best experience that I have ever had and I will learn a lot of things because of her spirit.

  Second, with the factory in this town, the population will increase owing to many migrators from different areas.  In fact, on account of these migrators, the town’s public security will become more dangerous than before.  The committing rate will rise for those whose jobs are occupied by the people from other places or those who can’t find a job by the population is more than working opportunities.

  As a person who likes to travel and learn other countries' culture, I think Korea is a wonderful place where visitors have to go. The first time I went to Korea was at the age of twelve. I still remembered that when I arrived there, I was so excited.  I went to visit a lot of historic spots and learned culture about Korean history. People living there were so gentle and friendly because they always smiled at foreigners.  When I was buying some local food at local markets, some venders even gave me food for free. As the proverb goes, "When in Rome, do as the Romans do." Therefore, I put on Korean traditional clothes.  In fact, it made me feel that I was a real Korean.  By virtue of this trip,  I found that Korea was really a beautiful country and I would never forget about it.
